Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: In canon, Adam's Winchester bloodline means that he can become a vessel for the Archangel Michael, but - other than that - he has no special powers. He's just your average, ordinary human. However, due to the fact that he was studying pre-med prior to his death, he does have some knowledge on the human body and some scant medical skills which may develop into something great if given the correct opportunity to flourish. Also, Adam has the potential to become a decent hunter some day, now that he knows the supernatural world exists, given the right training and based on who his family is.

Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them?
I think the power of super speed would be quite fitting for Adam because a lot of his problems could have been solved if he'd just have been that little bit faster. That is to say, he could maybe have outrun the ghouls that ate him or escaped the Green Room before being taken over by the archangel, Michael. Also, Adam has a desire to go into the medical profession where speed is very much of the essence.

In regards to his power, when it manifests, he will probably be only able to use it over short distances, at first, before it tires him out. Then, as it develops, he will be able to use it over longer distances - maybe to the point that he goes so fast, he can run over water - but he will still tire out, after a point, especially over longer journeys, and the longer the journey, the longer it will take him to recuperate. Also, maybe as his power develops, he could run with someone. That is to say, so long as he maintains physical contact with a person, he can take them along at the same speed, although this would drain his energy quicker and he would tire out sooner.

Weapons: Adam has no weapons, he's coming to the Port completely unarmed. :(

Character Personality:
When we first meet Adam, he comes across as your typical, every day, normal kid. Has a girlfriend, goes to college, nothing really special about him. He seems to be at least somewhat intelligent based on the fact that he graduated high school with honours and then went on to major in Biology, studying pre-med, at the University of Wisconsin. John saw Adam as a kid he could raise normally so he grew up without any knowledge of ghosts or ghouls or vampires - something which, while a blessing when he was young, became a curse when he and his mother were targeted by ghouls with a vendetta against John. Adam also seems to be rather sociable and well-liked in his hometown, seeing as how he was recognised at the diner and was able to exchange amiable small talk with the waitress.

We don't meet the real Adam until he is resurrected by the angels in 5x18, where he comes across as much more sarcastic and snarky than he was before - that is to say, the ghoul's portrayal of him. He seems to use his sarcasm as almost like a defense mechanism against - for example - his pesky family issues (saying, "So what, we're going to pile into the family truckster and take a trip on down to Wally World?) and, oh, the fact angels and demons and everything else supernatural are all very real. His attitude here, when thrown into a jarring situation, is very biting and harsh and he instantly demands answers, asking Sam and Dean "where the hell [was] Zachariah?" However, there were times when this hard exterior gave way to a more emotional, vulnerable side of Adam, like when he - in a dream - visited the park his mother took him to as a child or when he was trapped in the Green Room about to be taken over by Michael and displayed some very real fear, when the door wouldn't open and he was essentially trapped and doomed to an unknown fate.

Probably the most important person in Adam's life was his mother. He viewed her as his only family because, despite the fact that John Winchester did make some contact with Adam in his teen years, he didn't exactly fit into the typical father role with his youngest son viewing him as merely "some guy who took me to a couple of baseball games". Kate Milligan raised Adam on her own, as a single parent, while also juggling a career as a nurse. He respected her greatly for that and it was probably his mother's career as a nurse that inspired Adam to study pre-med at college, showing just how much of an influence she had over him. Kate's job as a nurse often required her to work long hours, often late into the night, and - as such - Adam became somewhat independent as a child, becoming a latch-key kid as he had to get his own way home from school, make his own dinner, etc. etc. Adam's love for his mother was so great that when the angels resurrected him to become Michael's back-up vessel, he agreed on the condition that he could see her again. This showed that his mother and his love for her was Adam's prime weakness - when the angels put this on the table, he was basically putty in their hands, to be molded and used in whatever way they saw fit.

As much as Adam loved his mother, this did not extend to his other family - the Winchesters - whom he openly resented. He resented John Winchester, as a father, for taking off and leaving him and his mother behind and he resented Sam and Dean for growing up with their father as a constant presence in their lives. He also resented/is jealous of the close brotherly bond that Sam and Dean share and a part of him probably longed to share in it, too, but he also knew - in his heart - that it could probably never happened. They'd grown up together, seen things that some people wouldn't even encounter in their worst nightmares, making them more worldly and knowledgeable while Adam - in comparison - seemed more naive and inexperienced regarding the supernatural world he didn't even know existed until he was nineteen. While Sam and Dean never express this view vocally, Adam definitely felt himself as an interloper into their close-knit clan and, thus, did his best to distance himself from them. Also, taking into account his canon point, that resentment of Sam and Dean and their profound bond will only be all the greater as - to him - they abandoned him to the angels in the Green Room, in favour of looking out for each other.

Adam also clashes with his brothers, personality-wise as well. With Dean, he and Adam were so alike, from their snarky exteriors to the fact that they both had a deep love for the finer things in life, like beers and burgers, they often come to blows with one and other and they each have this stubbornness that prevents them from backing down. In contrast, Sam's boundless compassion often left Adam feeling smothered. While Dean would be fine to let Adam go off on his own and come to terms with his sudden extended family and the fact that the supernatural was real etc.on his own, Sam would try to include him as much as possible, something which Adam wouldn't really want at first, so it would only really succeed in doing more to alienate him from the family, than include him. Basically, Adam is the black sheep of the Winchester brood.

In this game in particular, Adam will find himself very, very conflicted. This is - for him - a second chance in many respects. He will come into the game, unsure of everything. The world he knew is gone, the mother he loved is gone, the last thing he remembers is some dick angel about to take over his body - all he has left here are the Winchesters. Will he let bygones be bygones and accept his family, maybe even joining in with the "family business"? Or will he strive off on his own, still bitter at them, and just let that distance between them become even greater until it's irreparable? The chances are his dislike for the Winchesters will cause him to go off on his own and try to make his own way in the Port for a while, but - when it comes down to it - in a place like Siren's Port, you need allies and he may just find his way back in the Winchester clan some way or another.

Essentially, Adam believes that the universe has dealt him a very bad hand in life - and, at first, the fact that what could have been his second chance at life is being spent here at Siren's Port with monsters lurking in the dark will do nothing to dissuade that belief. As such, this has made him a very bitter person. When meeting new people, especially when he first arrives, he'll be snappish and irritable to almost everyone. However, his biting, sarcastic, couldn't-give-a-shit-about-anyone-or-anything nature is just how he deals. It's like an armour for him to mask the fear and the panic and everything else he sees as a weak emotion because Adam is a character who does not keep calm in a crisis but he feels that by maybe masking that, he can set himself up as an individual not to be messed with. He seems to be firmly of the belief that real men have tough exteriors. As people get closer to Adam, however, they'll realize that this is all just a front and that there really is more to that. They'll be privy to his more emotional side, may get to see how afraid he really is and that he just wants to be accepted by his peersHowever, getting close to Adam will not be a feat easily accomplished here. Due to his canon point, where he thinks he's been abandoned by his brothers and was tricked by the angels - supposed beings of good - he'll be very skeptical of just about everyone. He won't welcome people with open arms and a smile and a lot of work will need to be done in order for friendships to be established, but, once it is, he'll prove to be a very loyal, caring companion to have.

Despite his sarcastic attitude, Adam is by no means a cold and callous character. He's also capable of being a caring individual. After all, he wanted to go into medicine - a career which is fundamentally about helping people - and he was willing to let Michael take his body as a vessel to stop the devil if it meant saving the world. This means he won't hesitate to help people to the best of his ability if he sees that they are in distress. However, Adam has also shown indications of being prideful and likes to have his helpful acts noticed by others - for instance, he told Sam and Dean about how he and Michael were going to 'team-up' to fight the devil without any hesitation, as if to say "aren't I awesome?" His caring nature could potentially be his downfall here as if he thinks someone needs help, he will go to them - even if all other factors point to it being a ruse - because Adam is all to aware of what it's like to both die and lose someone you care about and he doesn't want the same thing to happen to anyone else.

Adam is also seen to be a very curious character and would be open to trying to learn new things - for example, when he first arrives, he will probably ask a ton of questions about the Port and the monsters there, trying to get as much information as he can in case it might be useful. He'll also probably be open to learning some new skills, such as self-defense, because, at the end of the day, Adam will want to be prepared against the monsters this time around and won't allow himself to be caught off-guard like last time - he'll want to survive. Basically, once he gets over the idea that his time here at the Port is a curse rather than a blessing and that his time here is his second chance, he won't squander it. Instead he'll grab it with both hands and do everything he can because Adam is both facing an unknown fate back home and is very much aware of how short life can be. Adam also has a sense of humour, if a somewhat dry and snarky one - it's just buried under his couldn't-care-less attitude as well as all the trauma that he's experienced over the past while, however, it might just be unearthed by the right person here at the Port.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: n/a
Character Plans: Adam's going into a game with, essentially, his whole family. A family which he is kind of the black sheep of. Initially, he'll problem try to distance himself from them due to issues~~ but I'm hoping that, somehow, Adam will get the chance to bond with his family and become a proper Winchester - something he never really got the chance to do on the show. Also, I think it would be pretty cool if somewhere down the line, Adam got some hunter training as well because, you know, the family that hunts the Darkness together, stays together.

Also I'm hoping that, in the long run, Adam will be able to look into attending medical school and finishing his medical degree. While he may not see it that way at first, Adam's time at the port is basically like a second chance for him, not just when it comes to dealing with his family but with just his everyday life as well, and he'll try to use his time here wisely. He'll be able to maybe get his career in medicine, a place of his own, friends, a girlfriend maybe. What I really want is for Adam to be able to see that he doesn't have to keep up the hardened exterior thing all the time and to maybe embrace his more emotional side.

Appearance/PB: As played by the ever-lovely Jake Abel.

First Person Sample

[ When the NV starts up, the first thing you hear filtering out through the device is a male voice, shaky and uneven. The speaker sounds very much as though he's not trying to panic which becomes apparent when he says: ]

OK. So. Don't freak out. Um.

[ The NV moves, the camera switching on so you see the speaker now. A blond-haired boy in his late teens, who spares the camera a weak smile. He looks very much as though he's trying not to show how scared he really is. He's not succeeding. ]

So, this is an alternate version of Canada, huh? What does it say about your life when this is probably not the weirdest thing to ever happen to you?

[ He clears his throat, shaking his head at his bitter attempt at humour. He licks his lips once, as though deliberating something, before he returns his gaze to the camera, staring straight down at whoever happens to be watching the transmission. His expression is serious and business-like. ]

Um. My name's Adam. Adam Milligan. And I'm, uh. I'm looking for these two guys. One's, um, tall and the other's a bit shorter. Like this. [ He holds the camera back and raises his hand above his head to demonstrate their heights. ] Uh, Sam and Dean. That's their names. Sam and Dean Winchester.

Does, uh, does anyone know where I can find them? If they're here? I'm their-- I'm their brother.

Alternate First Person Sample

[ At first there's just a lot of crackling and what's on screen is just an incoherent blur as Adam turns the NV over in his hands, muttering angrily to himself. ]

How the hell do you--?

[ Oh, look, he's figured it out and he holds it up, peering into it and looking very annoyed. ]

So. An alternate version of Canada. With monsters - actual freakin' monsters - in the dark. [ 'Cause he hasn't heard that one before. ] I mean, seriously? Ripped outta Heaven and this-- this is what I get? That's-- That's just great. Really.

[ He scoffs, shaking his head, before giving the camera a mocking thumbs-up. ]

Yeah, so big thanks to whatever douchebag decided it was a good idea to bring me here.

Third Person Sample

"...Dean! Dean! It won't open! Dean!"

As the light cleared, Adam looked around him. The first thing that he was aware of that he was still him and he gave his fingers an experimental wiggle to test that he was still in control of his own body. OK. Good. No douchebag angel was riding around shotgun inside his skin. That was something to be grateful for, right? The second thing he was aware of was that his surroundings looked nothing like the room he'd just left.

The angel's crib had been clean and white and gold with a plentiful supply of beer and burgers. This? This was nothing like that. At all. It was dark and dank and... oh, fuck, was this Hell? Had he died and gone to Hell this time around? It certainly wasn't the Heaven he remembered from last time he was there, that much was for certain. This didn't look anything like his high school prom and there was no sign of Kristen McGee anywhere.

He started to walk forward - anywhere - figuring his best option was to find someone who could explain just what was going. It didn't take him long as he soon found himself stumbling across a man, dressed in an efficient-looking suit, "Hey!" he called to him, jogging to catch up with him, "Hey!" He caught the man's sleeve, turning him around to face him, "Sorry. Can you, ah, tell me where I am?"

"Aw, jeez," the man gave him a weary sigh, shaking his head, "Another one of these guys. You're in Siren's Port, buddy. Alternate dimension Canada? Ringin' any bells here?"

"What?" Adam choked out, his features contorted into an expression of shock and confusion.

"It's getting dark, better get indoors," was all the man said and then he was off, leaving Adam even more perplexed.

"What, why?" he yelled after the man, "What happens after dark?" Adam tried again, only to receive no answer.

In his frustration, he kicked the ground with his sneakered foot, stirring up a cloud of dirt. He needed to find Sam and Dean. He raised his eyes to the sky, already darkening as night approached. But first, he needed to get inside. He didn't know what happened after dark, but - by the sounds of it - it wasn't anything good.
